Logbook, Ship Glide, 1829-1832.

Logbook chronicles a 37-month, 8-day, round-trip journey from Salem to the South Seas. Keeper of the logbook is not identified; crewlist of the Glide is included. Also included is a glossary of native words and their corresponding English words for Wallis Island and "Feegee" Island. The purpose of the journey was to obtain Bech-le-mer, Tortoises, and sundries from the islands. Bech-le-mar are similar to leeches or blood suckers.
